Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium Visit
Brilliant Beautiful Birds!
We just loved the birds and we hope you love our observation. The museum has more birds than any other animal or artifact. There are hundreds of birds in the museum. The habitats were fantastic and they looked like the birds in their real habitat. The colors and feathers of the birds were spectacular. If you go there you will see the most brilliant, beautiful, interesting birds ever!

Asian Artifacts
Have you ever been to Asia? We went to the Fairbanks Museum and got to see some Asian artifacts. We got to see Samurai swords {katana*} and armor in a display. We also got to see Japanese fabric. Have you ever seen an ancient Chinese, wealthy women’s feet? Of course not, because that was about 1,000 years ago. They used to wrap the girl baby’s feet in cloth so that the feet wouldn’t grow. Have you ever seen an old Japanese house? Japanese homes have bamboo floors. And you take your shoes off before entering. We hoped you liked our facts. If you want to learn more, go to Fairbanks Museum.
*Katana in Japanese is a sword.

Minerals are Magnificent
Have you ever seen about 30-40 minerals at once??? I have!!!!!! I saw them at the Fairbanks Museum. There was a very interesting mineral made of sulfur. It was bright yellow, and looked like an over-ripe banana!! Another interesting mineral was Blue Quartz. It was turquoise in color. My favorite was the Wulfenite. It was orange and goldenish-brown and was a magnificent mineral!!!! I hope you get to have the chance to visit the mineral exhibit at the Fairbanks Museum!!

Mammals of the World
There are many different mammals at the Fairbanks Museum. We would like to share a few of our favorites. We really enjoyed the Timber Wolf because it looked like it was in mid-snarl. As you walk into the museum, on your right you will see a grizzly bear that looks like it’s going to eat you! It’s a gigantic stuffed Grizzly Bear that looks really hungry. In the far right corner of the museum there is a display with a Bengal Tiger in it. It looks like it’s stalking its prey. The mammals are so interesting that words or pictures cannot describe it. The only way you can really picture it is to see it for yourself.

Surprise! Mummies!
We saw something interesting, intriguing, and plain wacky. We saw mummies! Now we will tell you some facts. In mummies’ tombs they bury all of their belongings because they believed they would need them in their afterlife. Cool, huh? Also did you know that it takes 80 days to prepare one mummy? There are different types of mummies, for example, the Ice Mummy. Well, now you know some stuff about mummies. But there’s still more to learn. If you want to learn more, go to Fairbanks Museum in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

We found the wolf diorama interesting because you can see his teeth and you can tell that he is mad because of his facial expression. We also saw a tiger and found out they are endangered. We saw a Rhinoceros Hornbilled bird and found out that the mom was trapped in a nest in a tree for with the babies for three weeks!!!! Can you believe that there is only a crack for the father to give the mother some food? If you want to see more, go to the Fairbanks Museum in St. Johnsbury!
